About 'One Million Pieces'
The One Million Piece Project was created in response to a growing crisis—illegal dumping and littering across Houston. What many overlook has become impossible to ignore: neighborhoods, parks, and public spaces being overwhelmed by waste. Our mission is clear and measurable: to bag up one million pieces of litter and remove one million pounds of illegally dumped waste. Piece by piece. Pound by pound. This movement didn’t start as a large operation—it began with a simple cleanup at Anderson Park in the Galleria area. What started as an effort to restore one space quickly revealed a much larger problem affecting communities all across the city. That moment became a turning point.
From there, we began documenting what we saw—the scale of the dumping, the impact on everyday people, and the urgent need for action. But awareness alone isn’t enough. We knew we had to create solutions that people could be a part of. Through organized cleanups, community challenges like the 100 Piece Challenge, and ongoing volunteer efforts, we are building a movement rooted in action. Every bag filled, every pound removed, and every person involved brings us closer to reclaiming our environment.
This mission is powered by the community. Whether you participate in a cleanup, donate to support the cause, or simply share our story—you are part of the solution.
We believe Houston’s beauty is worth protecting. And we refuse to let it go to waste.
Together, we will fight this problem—piece by piece, pound by pound.
